Grass Is Not Always Greener…
ADS is who you call when you want quality. But is quality always the lowest price? Typically the answer is no. That’s not to say were the most expensive, but we price honestly and accurately because we never allow cost to get in the way of a quality job done right the first time.
We understand the needs and scope of work necessary for large acreage and rural properties. We know dirt, yard grades and what is happening in it. So we understand what will happen to your grass seed if there are issues with the ground supporting it. We will identify issues, for example, if the ground is unstable if you have improver grading or slopes that are too steep causing pooling of water or erosion that will destroy or displace your seed before it takes root. To have your seeding job performed incorrectly will not only increase cost but lead to migraines, frustration, added stress and unsightly bald spots. Will my new seed need to be watered?
It entirely depends on the type of seed you want, typically we use a non irrigated, all-purpose seed that only needs natural precipitation for water. But if you’re looking for a picture perfect lawn that you plan on manicuring relentlessly we can supply you with the proper seed and it WILL need to be watered. But don’t worry, we’ll always be in communication with you on your project.
When will I have grass?
Our recommendation is to wait at least 90 days after the grass has sprouted out of the ground to use any harsh chemicals or pesticides.
Can I walk and/or drive on the newly seeded area?
We strongly advise you stay off of it so it can form a good root, any traffic, including foot traffic, will impede growth and can cause blank spots in the grass.
Can we apply fertilizer to the new grass?
Yes but it’s best to wait until after the first cut especially if it’s a granular fertilizer that way the fertilizer doesn’t blow around or wash away, the grass helps hold it in place. Try and find a starter fertilizer that is higher in nitrogen, this helps promote healthy root growth and healthy roots make better grass.
